A film about a Stephen King story? Directed by Frank Darabont. Who? Starring Tim Robbins. Wasn"t he the guy from Howard the Duck? I admit, only the sublime acting talents of Morgan Freeman took me along to see this movie. Now the only questions I have to ask are: Why didn"t EVERYBODY go to see this movie? and, Why didn"t Morgan Freeman win the Oscar? Tom Hanks is a fine actor but, he should never have beaten Morgan. Once again a Stephen King short story translates to film better than his horror opus. Tim Robbins pulls out his finest performance to date, and, Mr Darabont take a bow. Very rarely are you left with a large smile and warm heart at the end of a movie but, I could have danced as the camera slowly panned back from the beach. Perfect.

I REALLY wish the series could go on forever. I"m up for rejection next week. He took the lord"s name in vain! I"m telling the warden. I did a presentation on this movie when I was in highschool! Interesting thing I learned was that director Darabont was surprised by how popular the movie was with women, considering that there are no female characters. He decided it must be because they liked the themes of close loving friendship. I liked it because it"s a great story with great characters.
Lets go to watch the latest movies of your favorite movies. Shawshank redemption is my absolute favorite movie of Stephen King adaptations it shouldve won an Oscar they were robbed. Best movie I"ve ever seen. I will give 1 million to Morgan freeman just to see him talking. The last 20 minutes of the movie is like master acting,screen play,and incredible dialogues. the character played by Morgan freeman and Tim Roth is well written. The movie may look like a depressing movie, but not. Reds narration is the highlight. According to me movie is about patience and hope the movie is little slow that make u think what happens I told the dialogues are well written which makes you think twice, and after watching the movie I felt something which is nice and I can"t explain if you have not seen this movie go and watch it now, because you will not be disappointed.
1:48 On TV, the Close Captioning for that part just refers to it as Sitcom music rather than the theme from Friends, and it doesn"t use the lyrics, so deaf people miss out on the joke. It would be a sad day when Morgan leaves us, cause a man with a voice like that comes every thousand years. One hell of a movie this one of the best. They don"t make these kind anymore.
That bit with the Friends song is just too much.
